After a short sojourn in Germany Oh Gosh! TV returns to Washington D.C. to visit at Bourbon in the Adams Morgan district. Join Owen Thompson for a Oaxaca Sunshine, a delicious cocktail using the Del Maguey Crema de Mezcal mezcal.
Oaxaca Sunshine
- 1½ shots / 45 ml / 1½ oz Del Maguey Crema de Mezcal
- ½ shot / 15 ml / ½ oz Cointreau
- 1 bar-spoon sugar syrup
- 2 dashes grapefruit bitters
- Shake all ingredients with ice and strain in to a cocktail glass. Garnish with a grapefruit zest twist.

Interesting drink. The production could be better (after bar closes or before it opens, better prep of speech content) and the bartender should also be mic’d. If all that was put in place, you could easily put out a series of videos.

Mike – Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately my visit to DC was only two days, and I squeezed 4 bars in during that time so with a bar like Bourbon that is open from brunch onwards it was impossible to be there when it was closed. If you notice from the other videos generally I do shoot them when the bar is closed where possible.
I agree about the sound, but OGTV is produced on a limited budget so currently a lavalier microphone isn’t possible. It’s something I am hoping to improve next year however.
